Term 4
Athletics
On the first Friday of the term the kids in athletics (including me) went to the track we usually go to for district athletics (I've forgotten the name of the track!!!) I was in A Girls 11 and under relay team. Unfortunantley, we only came 4th, but we still got a ribbon!(hehe.) But Amy V, Brett C, Omar T, Bhavana S, Bianca P and Caitlin R.(I think thats all.)
Anyway, It was a fun day and I am looking forward to next year!
Term 3
Holidays
These holidays, my family and I aren't really doing anything. We have just finished an extension on the house so we will probabley still be unpacking. My sister and I just got new shelves to match our room so we are still filling them up with our things.
Anyway, thats pretty much all we are doing, but most of the time I will have some R&R. Hehe:-P.
Cya next term!
M.C.G.
On the 19th of August, the seinior school went to the M.C.G(Melbourne Cricket Ground). It was a full day excursion. First we got a tour, than we got to have a look at the museum and lastly we got to go to "Game On". "Game On" is an interactive sports place were you gan play interactive games of all different sports such as netball, bike riding, football, soccer, archery and cricket.
The whole day was really fun an I wish we could go again!!!
Energy
This term we are learning about energy. There are all different types of energy such as wind, solar geothermal, hydro and electric. (Just to name a few)! We have also had students from the Monash University come in and teach us more about types of energy and do fun experiments and activities related to that type of energy we learn about in that lesson.
I've really learnt a lot about energy during term 3!
Term 2
Water
This term SP is learning about water. We havn't learnt much yet because it is only 2nd day back at school for term 2. But I do know that Australia is in the middle of a serious drought and we are trying hard to save our water. Some ideas are putting buckets in their showers and taking the water that is collected by them out to water the garden and the same with baths. You can collect the water with buckets from the bath by scooping it all out instead of draining all of the water out.
Term 1
Australian Aboriginals
This term SP , is learning about Aboriginals. This Friday Murrindindi is coming for a whole day to talk about his life and teach us how to throw a boomerang. It will be really exciting. We are also painting aboriginal artwork of our own and writing a story about it. Mine is called "why the Koala always sleeps". I finished my dot painting today at recess with about 7 or 8 other kids from SP. Learning about Aboriginals and their culture will be really fun!!!
